The photocell, also known by the name of LDR i.e. Light Dependent Resistor is an automatic unit which turns on the light and turns it off using the sunlight as a stimulant. It turns on when it starts getting dark and turns off at the dusk without any manual operation required.<\/p>

This switch is made with an LDR. The resistance value of this Light Dependent Resistor or semiconductor is directly proportional to the intensity of light.
